The nail art trend has gained a huge amount of followers recently and soared in popularity thanks to luxury nail artist Sophy Robson, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Beyonce leading the way with unique nail designs. Nail art is a beauty must have and you only need to look at the beauty blogs to see how popular this trend has become with super talented bloggers uploading their creations.

Thanks to a bit of help from some very talented beauty bloggers, we’ve implemented a new feature at Powder Rooms which we hope will make things easier for you.

From now on you’ll see pictures of the nail polish that we stock on the nails as opposed to just pictures of the bottle so you can see how it works on and against different skintones. In the next couple of months we hope to have this feature available for every colour that we have available on the site and we hope you like it.

Fresh from the latest catwalks, the new 3 Free nail lacquer colours by Butter London are revealed! This sneaky peek is a complete “fashion forward” for fashionistas already O.V.E.R. all things summer!!!

Yeah, we get it, some of you are several seasons on and we don’t want to disappoint so check it….Introducing the Autumn/Winter 2010 Collection: All Hail McQueen, Bumster, Marrow and Victoriana.

Created by the über talented nail guru, Nonie Creme, the new collection is as creative and inspirational as it is bang on (catwalk) trend! This season, Nonie pays homage to the fashion industry’s beloved l’enfant terrible of fashion, Alexander McQueen, who sadly passed away at the start of Fashion Week last February. His last poignant collection, seemingly cut on the stand by his own hand, was haunting exquisite and astutely detailed. “All Hail McQueen” and “Bumster” pay tribute to the talented fashion master. Both colours look amazing on all skin tones – no nail fetishist should be without them this season – we know, we sneaked a go!!!

As if those two likely iconic colours wouldn’t spoil the most exacting of fashionistas enough already, Nonie has spoilt us even more this season by giving us access to a custom colour she created exclusively for the Vena Cava A/W 2010 RTW show… Introducing “Marrow“ – an eerie, gritty purple that is not only clever but cheeky, transcending street style to couture in one effortless sweep of a lacquer brush. This is a rare treat (TBH – all limited edition Butter colours are a treat but having the opportunity to access a colour that would normally only make a one-off appearance on the catwalk makes it a rare one!) Stock will be strictly limited so contemplate too long and it may just be gone! Forever.

Finally, “Victoriana“ pays reference to Nonie’s love of the regency and vintage blues found throughout many of London’s most exclusive interiors. This textured, twinkling blue can be found adorning our fair city – and didn’t look too out of place in the season’s latest collections, see the above report, the proof is in the pudding. Oh, how very Victorian of us!

No Added Sugar has always been a popular brand when it comes to clothes for kiddies. They manage to capture the right balance with fashionable and edgy designs that are still childlike, yet practical with machine washable items for over active tots! You only have to google the brand to see fanpages, blogs and photo’s from avid followers to realise how loved the collections are.

Last season we made the decision to move forward with the brand to coincide with our newly madeover site and we’ve been really pleased with the results and the feedback we’ve had overall. We’ve also been lucky enough to have some fans post photo’s on to the Powder Rooms fanpage on Facebook of their beautiful children in their NAS goodies and we only hope we get to see more!

The Spring/Summer range for 2010 has exceeded our expectations. A beautiful collection of monsters, skulls, nautical inspired prints and ditsy florals for your little ones that has kept us very busy this month!

We did manage to take some time for a photoshoot of the new range by a very talented photographer called Jorden Morrison to show the clothes to their full potential and to give you an idea of how they look in action and we hope you love the pictures as much as we do! Lola, Jackson and Roman were only too pleased to model for the day with the help of cupcake breaks and Jorden has beautifully captured the excitement and happiness in their faces.

We’ll be writing a seperate blog post on Jorden in the next few weeks as we’re overwhelmed by her pictures and what a joy she is to work with! For now, feast your eyes on her fantastic portfolio of work Jorden Morrison Photography x
